The German poet, Wilhelm Müller’s poems were inspired by his platonic love for Luise Hensel, which got the attention of Schubert already in 1821, the year they were published. He found the reflection of his own feelings in the poems’ dark world, and he composed music for twenty out of the twenty-five pieces. Some parts of the Schöne Müllerin have probably been performed in his life to his group of friends by Johann Michael Vogl, a singer friend of Schubert. The song cycle that was published in 1823 will be performed by Zoltán Megyesi and Balázs Fülei at the Festival of Zemplén, on the 14th of August, in the Oremus Salon in Tolcsva.
