“Opus 1” was of special significance at the end of the 18th century: with that, a composer presented his business card to the audience and the profession. Beethoven’s first opus – the trio in E-flat major, G major, and C minor – was dedicated to Prince Lichnovsky by the twenty-five-year-old author and then premiered in the prince’s palace in 1795. The first piece, the piano trio in E-flat major will be played by István Kádár, György Kertész and Balázs Fülei in the Sunday Chamber Music series on April 24 in the rehearsal hall of the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
