The latest CD of the Auer Trio including Franz Liszt’s single piano trio and Tchaikovsky’s Trio in A minor will be available in music stores from mid-May. Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody IX was written in two versions: the first one in 1848 is titled the ‘Carnival in Pest’. This version can be heard on the CD.

Tchaikovsky completed the Trio in A minor in Rome, in early 1882. The piece was inspired by the death of the composer’s close friend, the pianist Nikolai Rubinstein, and was dedicated to his memory.
