Schumann’s piano quintet in E-flat major will be played at a unique performance on May 13 in the House of Dialogue: Dávid Csuti, the bassist of the Radio Orchestra has added a double bass part to the piece, so it is now going to be performed not by five but by six musicians. The piano quintet in E-flat major was Schumann’s first piano chamber music piece; the composer’s wife, Clara Schumann, was sitting at the piano at the premiere in Leipzig in 1843.
